The cake that almost wasn’t, Pikachu interrogated, movie reviews and more…

PasqalesChickenCarbonaraThanks for stopping in.  Hope you had a good week.  We spent another week without an oven, and you know what that means. Stopping in one of the many great restaurants in the Wilkes-Barre area.  This week, our favorite was Pasquale’s on the San Souci Parkway in Hanover Township.  Here are some other reviews on yelp.

A special cake from Chris, and Pikachu is put under the interrogation spotlight.  A special Happy 18th Birthday goes out to Damon Szatkowski, and to his grandfather Nick who shares the same birthday.  So many of us are in awe of Damon’s daily progress in recovery from a car accident in December, as documented by his mom Karen on Facebook.

Here are the highlights of our week.  BTW…Chris is on page 348 of Ulysses….about halfway done!…

Breakfast at Wimbledon, FAQ and Math with a Lawyer….

What do you get when you add a JD and old t-shirt?  Find out as you join us  us for Breakfast at Wimbledon this morning. Plus we’ll share the highlights of our dining in Wilkes-Barre, along with memories of Chic and CW McCall, and best of Pikachu makes a visit to help answer our FAQ. Thanks for stopping in! Don’t miss a week! Put your email in the “followers” box in the upper right.

Annual Bad Mood, High School Memories, and the odyssey of Ulysses

The good news is Shivaun doesn’t get into bad moods often, the bad news is this is the week for it and tried to get out of doing the weekly show, but Chris overruled her.  A surprise party for a friend brought out some high school memories for Chris, as well as an update on what looks like will be a 4 month project, the reading of Ulysses.  Thanks for tuning in!

Rivers Rivers Everywhere…Wow! What a Ride!

If you’re anywhere near Wilkes-Barre today we hope you’ll stop by the River Common or Nesbitt Park (on the West Side of the River) for River Fest 2012.  We stopped by on Saturday, and Chris ‘volunteered’ to help out by rowing a dragon boat in a race on Sunday.

So today there are two episodes, all river oriented.  The first is last week’s visit to the Lehigh Gorge State park, and a 25 mile bike ride along the river. Plus we test out the iphone palm reader app, and some advice from Hunter S. Thompson.

Then, we have Saturday’s quick visit to River Fest. We hope to see you live in person today, Sunday June 24.

Feeling motivated? I think we edited out the info about the options, so if you want to do the Lehigh Gorge Trail, there are a few great options, easily doable:  10 miles, 15 miles or 25 miles. The shuttle takes you to your destination and you ride back. All flat. Or you can just drive to Jim Thorpe or White Haven and ride as far as you feel like and ride back.  We used

Chris with time on his hands…

What’s a guy to do?  With the excitement of last week’s oven fire (a new oven is on the way, incidentally), the bar has been raised.   With some free time on his hands, Chris went all out.  Plus, you’ll get a Ulysses update and meet a dog of a flower girl at Amy and Drew Feldman’s wedding.  Oh, and a preview of our adventures on the Lehigh River Gorge.

Ribs anyone? Plus Ulysses and weight updates and more

Hmmm…Carolina Spiced Smoked Ribs…Sounds great!  Well, we got the smoked part right. You’ll get an update on Chris’s progress through Ulysses, a weight update, see clips from Chris and Shivaun’s comedy and stage days, and get some advice for what to do on a Friday night in Wilkes-Barre.

Also if you feel a little woozy during the re-enactment, that’s the new camera.  We’ll be putting that on the shelf. Hang in there, it’s only used for that scene.

An ‘almost apology,’ 5k histories and Chris takes on Ulysses!

Well, all we can say is a successful marriage is based on overcoming challenges, and keeping one’s mouth shut when being scolded. We hope you enjoy Sundays with Shivstopher today, when we try out our new camera, compare our 5k race histories, participate in a competition of newspaper appearances, and most importantly:  Chris takes on Ulysses!

A reminder that we will featured as Blog of the Week on PA Live on WBRE TV, on Tuesday June 5th.

Thanks for tuning in!
