A morning with Brenda’s Warriors, taking on Honey Boo Boo, and an award winning screenplay tale

We were happy to be part of Brenda’s Warriors as we support our good friend in her fight against breast cancer. You’ll see highlights from our walk in the Race for the Cure 5k event with 30 of Brenda’s supporters and thousands more. Chris encounters his double at Harvey’s Lake, Shivaun takes on Honey Boo Boo with a creative commitment  for future episodes of our blog and you’ll hear a tale of Chris’s almost award-winning screen play. Oh, and Shivaun’s brother joins Facebook! It’s been quite a September so far….

Cape May Caper, Part 2

From Barber Shoppers to one of the best restaurants ever….to Parasailing and funny people from Boston, we experienced it all in our Cape May Caper. Plus, we have finally realized what we want to be when we grow up:  On Vacation! Our favorite part of this week’s episode is the parasailing operator’s answer to Shivaun’s question.  Next time you’re in Cape May, check out East Coast Parasailing, The Washington Inn, George’s, Dock Mike’s Pancakes, The Rusty Nail, 410 Bank Street. Oh yeah, and the beach!

Also featured…Special appearance by the Avalon Call Me Maybe girls and our Favorite Niece of the Week.

He did it! and our latest Frequently Asked Question

Congratulations to Chris who was able to accomplish what only 3 people I know have done.  What was it? Swim in triathlon?  No. (although he did that, but I know lots of people who did.)  One pound burger at Cheeburger Cheeburger?  No. (Although he did that too….)

Drum roll….He finished James Joyce’s Ulysses! Yay Chris!  He’ll tell you the highlights, and we’ll answer our latest

Frequently Asked Question: When is a vacation not a vacation?

The answer is included within this week’s episode: (This is part one of two.)   Subtitled: Getting there is half the fun.

Chris’s two great accomplishments

Ready to take it on!

We’re still up in the air as to which was the greatest accomplishment, the mile swim in the Triathlon, or the one pound burger at Cheeburger Cheeburger. You decide!  This all paves the way for next week’s great accomplishment….which starts with a “U.”   But that’s next week….Thanks for tuning in.

Vacation planning, a visit from Pikachu and Shivaun’s latest purchase

Don’t miss an episode! Put your email in the “Follow” space to the right, and you’ll get an email each time we put out an update. (We won’t use it for anything else.)

Hard to believe, but two weeks in a row, on time! Yay! As May comes to a close, Chris and Shivaun plan their summer vacation and Chris offers tips for the perfect vacation. They also take a trip down memory lane for a story about a trip to Atlantic City. Finally, Shivaun has a new purchase to share, and tells of her first use of it. Oh, and Pikachu stops in for a drink…Here’s the latest from Sundays with Shivstopher!

On this Memorial Day weekend, we want to honor all veterans and all of those who gave their lives while serving in our armed forces. We both recognize how fortunate we are to live here, and how many have selflessly given their lives for our country.

Also, a special note in honor of Shivaun’s dad John F. Henahan, who would have celebrated his 85th birthday on Monday. He died in 2001 but not after making his mark on this world. He was a great man, and would have enjoyed this blog.  He embraced the internet, and appreciated how it enhanced his personal and professional life.

Adventures in bike riding, Fine Arts, tap and FAQ

We’ve been notified by NEPA Bloggers that we’ll be featured on WBRE’s Blog of the week in June. Stay tuned!  If you haven’t signed up for automatic weekly updates, do so now by entering your email in the space in the upper right!

If you want to watch it full screen, hit the funny arrows in the lower right of the video.

The theme for this week is “Technological Challenges,” as, for some reason we were deluged with them, and when we say “we,” we mean “Shivaun.”  But when life gives you lemons…put ’em in the blog.

These challenges as well as a busy week around town and across the river, some tap , a FAQ and a weight update should keep you entertained….

As always, thanks for tuning in.

Finally!

We are happy to say we finally produced Birthday Part II, which in the end had little to do with the Birthday. But it does feature a visit with Anne Elizabeth O’Donnell, who was in for Chris’s surprise party and an energizing Rockband session, in which Chris gently instructs Shivaun on her first session with the keyboard while Annie works without a foot pedal. It’ll be a Freebird like none other.  It should be noted there was possibly something wrong with the keyboard at the time…..You’ll also hear why it’s been so long since we’ve had a ‘show,’ you’ll be treated 3 of the 95 intros we recorded each time we thought were were going to finish the show, and you’ll see Shivaun’s socks experiment.

As it’s Mother’s Day, we dedicate this episode to our moms, Nancy O’Donnell (our roommate), and the late Margaret M. Henahan, both of whom showed great patience with their two “creative” children who were both noted as ‘needs to apply him/herself’ by their teachers. If you’re a mom with a kid who ‘isn’t living up to his potential,’ take heart.  Someday he or she might be playing Rockband or growing socks on the internet.

And also a special hello to Damon Szatkowski who we got to visit about two weeks ago. Many of you know his story —  a young man who was in a serious car accident around Christmastime  and is now at the rehab at Hershey Medical Center.  His story of recovery has been harrowing with dramatic turns in the road, and most recently one incredible miracle after another. We are cheering him on in his recovery and ask you to join us!For those of you hoping for the bike riding debut, adventures on the road, Shivaun’s tap dancing lessons with Bonnie Franklin and the weight status, and the first in the series of Frequently Asked Questions…..tune in next episode….
